Remember when one could freely post whatever they chose to without the fear of consequence? Neither do I. I could jump on the band wagon and blame the evils of the internet as the perfect example of quickly executed hate, but I would be wrong. These days of “fake news” and constant divisions politically of who is “left” and who is “right”. As if there can be a right or wrong side when our political affiliations fall to the individual's own human experience.
People seem to always think that human beings can be put neatly, and quietly into these little categories. Which explains the over and grandous reactions to people being called xenophobe, or snowflake. We throw words around like verbal diarrhea then complain that the other group is where the bullshit comes from. We claim to be champions of free speech but deny others their right to speak it.
We are better than people that need to resort to violence to provide a point. We are better than using incorrect statements about each other. We need to let people speak for the good, and bad. When you deny someone the right to speak they only get louder, and more appealing to the masses. If you give someone the right to speak you give people the right to think, and decide properly about what they believe in. This culture of silence and hate must stop now.
